Find Your Feet

Find Your Feet is all about connecting people back to the earth.  I develop and facilitate workshops with school students, community groups, sporting clubs, and corporate mob. My workshops enable people to understand themselves and others through honest conversation whilst challenging the laws of the land that have been set upon us by generations before. I create a forum where men both young and old can sit in a space and share issues with those around them. My drive comes from knowing a young man called Bastien Madril. Cancer took away his opportunity at life, and throughout his final months he never lost contact with the dirt under his feet or the hearts at the end of a hug or handshake.  His parents proudly recall-

"Bas was a saltwater person. The Tiwi people are salt water people. Thus his love for fishing and surfing.  I remember him saying on the last day, one of the last things he did “Let me stand, I need to feel the ground, I need to feel the ground, I need to put my feet on the ground”Although it took so much courage, and I thought against it for the pain he was in, the condition he was in, Joe and I held him up so he could touch the ground with his own feet and stand with his feet on the earth one last time. Joe and Clare Madrill, Dad and Mum

Bastien lost his battle with cancer at the age of 16. He was truly connected to the earth under his feet. His courage, his energy, and his final handshake led me back to finding my own feet and wanting to encourage others to do so.

By connecting people back to their story, their passion, their love and understanding for the world around them, they are given the opportunity to connect, realign, recalibrate.

That's the Bas way!
