I was lucky enough to attend Farners Friends at Charlie Arnott's property 'Hanamino Station', Boorowa. While I wasn't sure what to expect, the weekend was expertly facilitated by Tommy Herschell. A range of interesting and cleverly designed group activities encouraged an honest and open dialogue on a wide range of issues facing farmers today including sustainable farming practices including biodynamics, rotational grazing, leveraging technology, successional planning, and mental health. I came away from the weekend invigorated, and also with a great network of like minded farmers and friends with whom I plan to keep in touch going forward. Thanks Tommy and Charlie for hosting this fantastic event.

As soon as I arrived at Hanaminno Station I  could sense something special was about to play out. Hamish Mckay bio-dynamics opened Pandoras box. Nature suddenly took on a whole new meaning. My mind had been refusing to accept Hamish's theories on agriculture. I am completely converted and looking forward to consuming this wonderful gift. Settling in around the camp that first night the atmosphere was brilliant, a group of men meeting in harmony to discuss how we can improve ourselves, our farms, and our soil conditions as well was identifying shortcomings in ourselves and those around us. For me to be enthralled in conversations from 6am till well over midnight each day, for three days, shows that I was with a special group that was facilitated incredibly well by Tommy Herschell. I am privileged and proud that I embarked on the Farmers friend journey and looking forward to the next adventure. To all my new friends, thank you for sharing your time and stories.

The ‘Find Your Feet’ weekend was among the most powerful experiences I have ever had. To share stories and experiences with a group of men that became good mates over two days really opened my eyes to the power of a yarn around a fire. If this opportunity ever comes along don’t miss it.

The energy we created is hard to put into words. Thanks again and as I’ve said the timing was perfect for me and my life is now on a much better track, I owe you a debt that will take a lot of paying back.
